The World Association for Chinese Studies (WACS) is a non-profit organization promoting collaboration among top Sinologists not only from China but from around the world, WACS promotes global cooperation among artists and scholars working in all Chinese disciplines.  These include, but are not limited to, contemporary China, economics, art, the classics, history, literature, music, philosophy and religion, poetry, publishing, Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), and approaches to teaching Chinese language and culture. WACS will serve as a funding source for internships in China, research collaborations, publications, conferences and art exhibitions and performances.

Scholarly research on these topics extends beyond academic circles. The goal of The World Association for Chinese Studies is to provide its scholarly information to academia, government, and businesses so that it can become a source of credible information for the international community. Its mission is to serve as an independent forum for a dialogue on China's past, present, and future in 21st Century education.
The Carolinas branch of the World Association for Chinese Studies is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. It follows the same protocols and guidelines as the World Association for Chinese Studies Worldwide.  Countries included in the association are, but not limited to: Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Columbia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Macao, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, and the United States, etc in 22 countries.
